DESCRIPTION:PPRD East 3 Disaster Risk Management Webinar Series.  \n\n\n\nEarly Warning Systems (EWS) are the very cornerstone of modern Civil Protection (CP) blueprints. An \n\n\n\nefficient coordination\, communication and pre-activation of the CP system can\, in fact\, allow to minimize \n\n\n\nimpacts of natural hazards. In an era where Climate Change has drastically augmented the intensity and number \n\n\n\nof events\, it becomes mandatory that national authorities adapt and upgrade their forecasting\, monitoring and \n\n\n\nresponse capacities by the means of scientific tools\, models and efficient planning strategies. \n\n\n\nThe webinar will guide participants to examine the international state of the art of Early Warning Systems \n\n\n\nexplaining its main components: \n\n\n\n1. Disaster risk knowledge; \n\n\n\n2. Warning dissemination and communication; \n\n\n\n3. Detection\, monitoring & forecasting and \n\n\n\n4.
