As a research and application centre at AYBU, AVAR is established to conduct research and projects on the issues related to European Studies. Accordingly, our publications and research projects mainly focus on, but not limited to, the European border security, EU migration policies, international cooperation on refugee protection and counterterrorism in Europe and its neighbourhood. AVAR aims to make original contributions to academic research and practices in European Studies by producing national and international publications, organizing conferences, seminars, workshops considering the following principles:
• We aim to undertake interdisciplinary projects that address cross-cutting, transnational issues in security, economics, politics, and migration in European Studies.
• Our interdisciplinary approach enables us to secure research projects beyond the disciplinary boundaries of academia and facilitates our collaboration with various national and international key stakeholders in European Studies.
